Mexico
Mexico is a country located in North America, bordered by the United States to the north, Belize and Guatemala to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Gulf of Mexico to the east. The capital and largest city is Mexico City. The official language is Spanish and the currency is the Mexican peso. The government is a federal presidential constitutional republic, with the President as the head of state and government. The current President is Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Mexico has a rich history, with its ancient civilization, the Aztecs, developing advanced societies and complex systems of government prior to the arrival of Europeans in the 16th century. Mexico was later colonized by the Spanish and gained its independence in 1821.
Mexico is known for its rich culture, including its art, music, and festivals, such as the Day of the Dead and the Guelaguetza, as well as its diverse cuisine, which is known for its use of spices, peppers, and chocolate. It is also known for its natural beauty, which includes its beaches, deserts, rainforests and ancient ruins like the Mayan pyramids.
The economy of Mexico is based on services, manufacturing, and agriculture. Mexico is one of the largest exporters of manufactured goods in the world, particularly in the automotive and electronics sectors. The service sector, including tourism and financial services, is also an important contributor to the country’s GDP. Agriculture is also an important sector, with products like corn, beans, and coffee being the main crops.
The population of Mexico is around 130 million people, and is composed of a mix of different ethnic groups, with the majority of people being of mixed Indigenous and European descent. Spanish is the official language, but many people also speak indigenous languages such as Nahuatl and Maya. The country has a diverse religious structure with a large number of Catholics, Protestants, and followers of other religions such as Jehovah’s Witnesses.
