Ireland is an island country located in northwest Europe, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Irish Sea. It is separated from Great Britain by the Irish Sea. The official languages are Irish and English, and the currency is the Euro. Ireland has a parliamentary democracy, with the President as the head of state and the Taoiseach as the head of government, currently Micheál Martin.
