Europe
Europe is the second smallest continent in the world, covering an area of about 10.18 million square kilometers (3.93 million square miles). It is located in the Northern Hemisphere and the Eastern Hemisphere and is bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. The continent is also bordered by Asia to the east and is separated from Africa by the Mediterranean Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar.
Europe has a population of about 743 million people as of 2021. The most populous country in Europe is Russia with a population of 144.5 million people, followed by Germany with 83 million, and the United Kingdom with 67 million.
Europe is known for its rich cultural heritage and diverse history. It is home to many iconic landmarks and historic sites, such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Colosseum in Rome, and the Parthenon in Athens. The continent is also the birthplace of many influential ideas and movements throughout history, such as the Renaissance, the Age of Enlightenment, and the Industrial Revolution.

The European Union (EU), a political and economic union of 27 member countries, has played a major role in fostering economic cooperation and integration throughout the continent.
